Library Trustees approve director contract through 2029.
Library Trustees, Board of · Meeting of March 24, 2026
BEVERLY — Library Trustees unanimously approve director contract extension through 2029. The board approved Allison Babin's renewed contract with updates to salary, longevity, and holidays to match library staff terms. Babin reported the FY27 budget request exceeds the Municipal Appropriation Requirement by $32,000 and will require a $15,807 supplement from trust funds to satisfy the Materials Expenditure Requirement, which mandates 13 percent of appropriation be dedicated to library materials.
The board approved reallocating funds from six budget lines to cover a nearly $19,000 bookmobile garage door replacement. With Marblehead facing potential library decertification due to a proposed 50 percent budget cut, Beverly trustees will revisit their policy on lending to residents of closed or decertified libraries.
