Library Board approves prior minutes; HVAC renovation underway
Library Trustees, Board of · Meeting of January 27, 2026
BEVERLY — Library Trustees approve minutes; director reports HVAC renovation and staffing strain. The HVAC project began January 20 and the north elevator repair cost 21,000 dollars; the Bookmobile garage door jammed January 12 and remains in need of repair. A city soft hiring freeze prevents filling a full-time technical services position, requiring Director Allison Babin and Assistant Director Meghan Karasin to assume bill-payment duties at an estimated 10 to 12 hours per week.
The library launched a new online reservable study room system and is deploying digital equity equipment including a study pod, braille printer, hotspots, and translation devices.
