Library Trustees advance planning on FY27 budget amid funding uncertainty

Beverly Library Trustees discussed a worsening FY27 budget outlook at their April 28 meeting. Library Director Allison Babin disclosed that the city's financial situation is "worse than expected" and the library may not receive its Municipal Appropriations Requirement, prompting exploration of a certification program waiver. Babin submitted a proposal approximately $32,000 above the MAR and will present to the City Council on June 11.
