Planning Board approves 5-unit townhouse project at 46 Federal Street with parking variance.

BEVERLY — Planning Board unanimously approves 46 Federal Street townhouse project with parking variance. Chair Derek Beckwith and the board voted 6-0 to grant a Special Permit allowing a reduction in parking aisle width from 24 feet to 20 feet, and approved Site Plan Review #170-26 for demolition of the existing dwelling and construction of five townhouse units with mixed garage and surface parking. The Parking and Traffic Commission, Design Review Board, and Board of Health all recommended approval with conditions addressing parking restrictions, snow removal, landscaping, and fire apparatus access.

One abutter, Tammy Harrington of 48 Federal Street, spoke in support, stating the project will add value to the neighborhood.
