BEVERLY — Harbor Management Authority approves Harbormaster equipment funding before fiscal year close. The authority unanimously endorsed two transfers totaling $12,763.68, including $11,663.68 for radio systems and antenna upgrades that a communications specialist found deficient in reaching U.S. Coast Guard Sector Boston and West Beach/Misery Island.
A $1,100 transfer covered electrical costs for commercial marina operations. Chair Paul Earl noted the Harbormaster's FY27 equipment budget has shrunk to $3,000, down from $8,000 in FY26. Beverly Main Streets Executive Director Danielle Payant outlined proposed Glover Wharf improvements focusing on shade, benches, murals, and native landscaping.
