Harbor Authority defers marina rate vote, plans spring upgrades

BEVERLY — Harbor Management Authority postpones commercial marina rate decision. Chair Paul Earl and six members present deferred the Facilities Committee vote to the April meeting, during which Marina Manager Sean M. Ciancarelli will attend.
Gloucester's two marinas charge 72 dollars per foot versus Beverly's 80 dollars per foot, though Beverly's Glover Wharf facility is in better condition. Member Todd Callaghan recommended holding rates steady this year due to rising energy costs. Recreational revenues reached 111 thousand dollars with 100 thousand collected after February 28.
