Beverly Historic Districts Commission clears demolition of 1938 City Hall Annex. Chair William Finch led the commission to a unanimous determination that the former Police Station, vacant since 2021, is historically significant but does not warrant a demolition delay. The six-member body voted 6-0 to deny "Preferably Preserved" status, allowing the City to proceed with demolishing the Annex and reconstructing it on the same footprint as part of a broader City Hall renovation and expansion project designed by Finegold Alexander Architects.
The commission also unanimously re-elected Finch as Chair and Suzanne Lamont as Vice Chair.
