Design board approves two sign applications, sets Cummings variance meeting

Design Review Board · Meeting of June 4, 2026

BEVERLY — Design Review Board approves two commercial sign applications in Beverly. The board unanimously recommended signage for Pressed Café at 181 Elliott Street and The Granite Group at 97 River Street, with amendments to the coffee shop's three-sign proposal consolidating it into two, and a condition removing internal illumination from the granite company's awning signs. Both applications passed 6-0.

The board also voted unanimously to invite a representative from Cummings Properties to a future meeting to address the global sign variance covering the Cummings Center complex, which currently displays 33 signs despite a variance limit of 11 in specified locations.
