BEVERLY — Open Space Committee re-elects Alden-St. Pierre chair; approves sidewalk letter. The committee voted 7-0-1 to retain Chair David Alden-St.
Pierre and Vice Chair David Brewster for 2026. Eight members approved an 8-0 motion directing Alden-St. Pierre to write Ward 3 Councilor Steve Crowley requesting City Engineering review the sidewalk on McKay Street at the Shoe Pond walking trail.
Assistant Director of Planning and Development Kenneth Clawson indicated he will seek grant funding for a potential Norwood Pond Bridge replacement and Mass Trails Grant funding for a kiosk project at the Hannah School Solar Farm. The committee advanced discussions of trail extensions in Sally Milligan, stairs at Pearl Street Extension, and a potential trail from Camp Paradise to Turtle Creek Housing.
