Human Rights Committee elects interim chair, faces membership crisis.
Human Rights Committee · Meeting of April 9, 2026
Beverly Human Rights Committee elected Eric Knudsen interim chair as five members prepare to leave office, threatening the panel's ability to meet quorum. The committee voted unanimously to approve February minutes and to reimburse member Carole Rein $110 for copies and name tags from a March 14 active bystander training event that drew over 30 participants. Members Mindy D'Ippolito, Gabrielle Montevecchi, Alyssa Rayman-Read, and Purvi Harley attended their final meetings; Carole Rein must be reappointed.
The committee cannot convene until seats are filled or the City Council changes quorum rules from a majority of available seats to a majority of seated members.
