Beverly Golf and Tennis Commission approves resurfacing bid and facility naming. Chair William E. Lowd oversaw unanimous approval of a tennis court resurfacing bid and unanimous agreement to name the facility way after Jan Ernst Matzelinger, a founding figure in the United Shoe Machinery Company.
Vice-Chair Martin J. Lawler, III reported a solid FY26 budget balance. The commission also unanimously approved one handicap parking space near the pro shop path, already installed.
Ongoing projects include replacement of the hole 18 veranda railing to code, hole 8 to hole 9 bridge reinforcement (after a grant denial), tennis building back wall replacement, and grounds work along Elliott Street at green 15, with chain link fence installation expected.
