Beverly School Committee approves three BTA labor agreements in emergency session
BEVERLY — November 27, 2024 — Beverly School Committee ratifies two union contracts and a return-to-work agreement with the Beverly Teachers Association. In an 18-minute emergency remote session on November 27, the Committee of the Whole — chaired by Rachel Abel and joined by Mayor Kevin Cahill, Kenan McKenzie DeFranza, Karen Robinson, Dr. Jeffrey Silva, and Linda Viznik — voted 6-0 on each of three motions after a closed executive session on bargaining strategy. The two memoranda of understanding cover BTA Units A and C for September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2027; the return-to-work agreement is dated November 6, 2024, suggesting a prior work stoppage. No financial terms were disclosed in open session. Member Kimberly Quo was absent for all votes.
