Beverly School Panel Eliminates $33,000 Elementary Music Fee for FY22

BEVERLY — June 23, 2021 — Beverly's School Committee Finance and Facilities Subcommittee voted 3-0 to eliminate the elementary strings and band fee, removing $33,000 in annual charges for families beginning in fiscal year 2022. Chair Rinda Visnik, School Committee member Kim Coelho, and public member Refri Silva approved the change after district finance staff confirmed the revolving account has sufficient funds to absorb the cost. The district had previously eliminated a $10,000 parking fee and a kindergarten fee. The subcommittee also accepted a $35.42 royalty gift and heard that new Maintenance Director Bob Cirolli, a Beverly resident, is completing onboarding after being selected from a competitive candidate pool.
