Beverly City Council Honors Three Departing Members at Final 2021 Session

BEVERLY — December 20, 2021 — Beverly City Council bids farewell to three members with a combined six decades of service at its final 2021 meeting. Council President Paul Guanci, who served 20 years including 16 as president, Councilor at Large Timothy Flaherty, a 16-year veteran, and Ward 3 Councilor Stacy Ames each received formal resolutions and citations from State Representative Jerry Parisella and State Senator Joan Lovely. The council also voted nine to zero to honor Beverly High School girls track coach David Jellison — whose combined record stands at 632 wins and 72 losses — and to proclaim December 20 as Ella Heckman and Callie Reed Day in recognition of the two Beverly eighth-graders who helped the Aztec 2008 Impact team win the 2021 U.S. Club Soccer National Cup. Among routine business, the council accepted a $1,000 donation from Cummings Properties for the fire department and set a December 29 public hearing on a $1.1 million Community Preservation Act request to place a conservation restriction on approximately 11 acres at Moraine Farm.
